Jacky Terrasson’s dazzling rise in the jazz world can be traced back to his very early records. Winner of the Thelonious Monk prize and of the French Victoires de la Musique for the best jazz album in 2020, the pianist toured the world with Art Taylor, Diane Reeves and Dee Dee Bridgewater. He also collaborated with the late Charles Aznavour and with Ry Cooder, as well as many other prominent names in contemporary music.

His style is instantly recognizable. Combining Bud Powell’s controlled velocity and Ahmad Jamal’s rhythmic breathing with his innate talent for sonic architecture and harmonic development, Jacky Terrasson adds freshness, delicacy and ease into his reinvention of Jazz. His latest solo record 53 was produced by Blue Note Records, marking Terrasson’s 11th release with the legendary label.

Dès ses premiers albums, Jacky Terrasson a connu une ascension fulgurante. Lauréat du prix Thelonious Monk, Victoire de la musique pour le meilleur album jazz en 2020, ce pianiste a fait des tournées mondiales avec Art Taylor et les chanteuse Diane Reeves et Dee Dee Bridgewater. Il a collaboré avec Charles Aznavour, Ry Cooder et tant d’autres grands noms de la musique contemporaine.

Doté d'un sens quasiment inné de l'architecture sonore et du développement harmonique, il vient d'enregistrer pour "Blue Note" son 11e album sous son nom, ce qui n'est pas une mince référence.
