Warehouse Tapes is an ongoing dig through the archive of the early rave continuum, with each edition exploring a different chapter in the story of subterranean dance music and looking at where today's sounds come from.
For this edition, we’re very happy to have SAUD back in Beirut from Serbia, Rubbishhh, Yasmeen and june as, each bringing their interpretations of this chapter and the many paths that grew from that fertile ground.
Opening another tape with each edition, we take on the sounds that moved through warehouses, radio and dubbed cassettes before the internet was a thing, leaning into overlooked cuts, timeless classics, and a lot of what was inspired by them.
The second tape moves into the years when the techno, acid house, breakbeat and other influences of the time began mingling, and rave music was pushed into even harder and faster territory.
Whether revisiting such records or discovering them for the first time, we look at moments when dance floor codes were being rewritten in real time.
