Synopsis

بعد نجاتها من الاختفاء القسري والاعتقال التعسفي  بسبب نشاطها السياسي في المغرب خلال حقبة السبعينيات، تواصل فاطنة البويه اليوم السعي بلا كلل لتحقيق حلم التغيير. يُعدّ عمل "فاطنة، امرأة تدعى رشيد" شريط حميمي وقوي  رحلةً إنسانيةً مرهفةً تمزج بين الماضي والحاضر، وتكشف عما يتطلبه الأمر لتظل المرأة مناضلةً في وقتنا الراهن .

After surviving arbitrary detention and torture for her political activism in 1970’s Morocco, Fatna El Bouih continues to pursue relentlessly today, her dream for change. ‘Fatna, a woman named Rachid’ is a sensitive journey blending past and present, revealing what it takes to remain a woman activist today.

اتجهت هيلين هاردر إلى السينما لإعادة بناء حياتها بعد تعرضها لحادث خطير. ويُعد فيلم "فاطنة، امرأة تدعى رشيد" - الذي طوّرته بالتعاون والحوار مع الناشطة المغربية فاطنة البويه - ثاني أفلامها الوثائقية.

Hélène Harder turned to filmmaking as a way to rebuild herself after a serious accident. “Fatna, A Woman Named Rachid”, developed in dialogue with Moroccan activist Fatna El Bouih, is her second documentary film.

فاطنة البويه ناشطة حقوقية وكاتبة مغربية، ومعتقلة سياسية سابقة. تعمل اليوم من أجل الدفاع عن حقوق الإنسان، والمساواة بين الجنسين، وحقوق السجناء في المغرب وعلى الصعيد الدولي.

ومن خلال كتابها «حديث العتمة»، أصبحت من أوائل النساء اللواتي وثّقن تجربة الاعتقال السياسي خلال فترة «سنوات الرصاص» في المغرب.

Fatna El Bouih is a Moroccan political activist and writer born in 1955. 

A former political prisoner during Morocco’s “Years of Lead” for her Marxist-revolutionary activism, she now works to defend human rights, gender equality, and prisoners’ rights in Morocco and internationally.

She was one of the first women to testify publicly about political detention in Morocco, with the publication of ‘Hadith Al Atama’ (Éditions Le Fennec, 1999), translated into French as ‘Une femme nommée Rachid’ and into English as ‘Talk of Darkness’ (University of Texas Press, 2008). On the occasion of the film’s release, a new, expanded French edition of the book has just been published: ‘Toutes peines confondues’ (Éditions iXe, 2025).
