Dans le documentaire Mes Fantômes Arméniens, Tamara Stepanyan explore l’histoire méconnue du cinéma arménien en engageant un dialogue intime avec son père décédé, l’acteur Vigen Stepanyan. Mêlant extraits de films classiques, vidéos familiales et voix-off adressée à son père, le documentaire met en regard mémoire personnelle et héritage collectif. Vibrant, poétique et universel, le film révèle un cinéma façonné par le génocide, les exils, les guerres et l’instrumentalisation à des fins de propagande soviétique, tout en célébrant la résilience, la création et l’identité d’un peuple. Le film a été choisi pour représenter l’Arménie dans la course aux Oscars 2025.
تسترجع تمارا استيبانيان في فيلم ’أشباحي الأرمنية‘ تاريخ السينما الأرمنية الذي لا يعرفه الكثيرون، في حوارٍ وديٍ مع والدها المتوفى، الممثل فيغان استيبانيان. يضم الفيلم مقتطفاتٍ من أفلامٍ كلاسيكيةٍ ومقاطع فيديو عائليةٍ ومقاطع تعليقٍ صوتيٍ موجّهةٍ إلى والدها، ليضع على بساط البحث الذكريات الشخصية والتراث الجمعي. يعرض الفيلم النابض والشاعري والشامل صورةً عن السينما التي تأثّرت عميقًا بالمجزرة والمنفى والحروب والتسخير لخدمة البروباغندا السوفيتية، مع الإشادة بالقدرة على التحمّل والمثابرة والنهوض وهوية الشعب. وقد اختير هذا الفيلم لتمثيل أرمينيا في السباق على جوائز الأوسكار عام 2025.
In the documentary film My Armenian Phantoms, Tamara Stepanyan explores the little-known history of Armenian cinema through an intimate dialogue with her deceased father, actor Vigen Stepanyan. Mixing clips from classic films, home videos, and a voice-over addressed to her father, the documentary juxtaposes personal memory with collective heritage. Poetic, vibrant, and universal, the film reveals a cinema shaped by genocide, exile, wars, and Soviet propaganda, while celebrating resilience, creativity, and the identity of a people. The film was selected to represent Armenia in the race for the 2025 Oscars.
