Out of the Picture explore la marginalisation des femmes dans l’histoire de l’architecture, une discipline longtemps dominée par les hommes. À travers les voix d’architectes dont celle de Denise Scott Brown, d’historiennes et de chercheuses, le film interroge les mécanismes culturels et institutionnels qui ont effacé leur contribution, tout en mettant en lumière les solidarités et stratégies qu’elles développent aujourd’hui pour reconquérir visibilité et légitimité. Entre archives, témoignages, et séquences animées, le documentaire dévoile la manière dont le pouvoir et l’histoire déterminent qui a accès au cadre et qui en reste exclu.

يتطرّق فيلم ’خارج الصورة‘ إلى موضوع تهميش المرأة في تاريخ العمارة، وهو المجال الذي لطالما طغى عليه الرجال. يستطلع الفيلم أصوات معمارياتٍ من بينهن دنيس سكوت براون ومؤرخاتٍ وباحثاتٍ، ليضع علامات استفهامٍ حول الأنماط الثقافية والإدارية التي أقصت إسهاماتهنّ، مع تسليط الضوء على التكاتف بينهنّ والاستراتيجيات التي يطوّرنها اليوم بغية إعادة صورتهنّ إلى الواجهة واستعادة شرعيتهنّ.

بين الأرشيف والشهادات الحية وسرد أحداثٍ بتسلسلٍ حيٍ، يكشف الفيلم النقاب عن الأسلوب الذي تلجأ إليه السلطة والتاريخ لتحديد من له الحق في دخول هذا العالم ومن يبقى خارجه.

 

Out of the Picture explores the marginalization of women in the history of architecture, a discipline long dominated by men. Through the voices of architects, including Denise Scott Brown, historians, and researchers, the film investigates the cultural and institutional mechanisms that erased their contributions, while highlighting the solidarities and strategies they develop today to reclaim visibility and legitimacy. Through archives, interviews, and animated sequences, the documentary reveals how power and history determine who gains access to the frame and who remains excluded.
