Keep talking about us

My name is Sami Moukaddem. I’m a musician/composer, psychologist, and an activist for Palestine.

This is the third event I’ve planned for Palestine. The first was on December 11th, 2023 and second on 11 March 2024. Since then the situation has become much darker. I wondered whether it is even appropriate to do another event, until a friend reminded me that the one thing Gazans keep on saying, is to keep talking about them, not to forget them.

With this spirit, this event, like the previous one, is a night of original music and talk. The talk is for the head, to acknowledge our frustrations of not being able to do much in this time of extreme darkness, and introduce the compositions and how they relate to the current situation. 

The music is for the Soul.

My aim is that those who attend leave feeling validated and nourished.

My presentation style balances light humour with seriousness.

The music is my original compositions, a mixture of Arabic, Jazz, Rock, Funk, Classical and World Music. (No vocals). It aims to be thematic, the soundtrack to our issues.

Profits will go to Palestinian organizations on the ground in Gaza.

My music is a mixture of Arabic, Jazz, Rock, Funk, Classical and World.

I have released 6 albums of my own compositions, with reviews in the Irish press (I lived in Ireland for 27 years). My latest two albums are available on Spotify and other music streaming services.

My activism include a film documentary (https://www.palestine-israel-problem.com/), videos by a character I created (Azizi bin Habeebi, “Lawless” features Noam Chomsky and Ziad Rahbani,(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBc8nuxhsf4), and a CD dedicated to the Palestinian cause; “The Facts of Life for the Palestinian”, an album dedicated to the events of 2006 when Israel invaded Lebanon.

The first event was video recorded and we are in the process of editing the material with plans of releasing some of it. In the meantime,

- Pay as you like (Shared & Limited Seating - Available only at Metro on the same day of the event starting 2 pm)

Seats are assigned by Metro, however, early arrivals may have the opportunity to select their preferred table.

Drinks are available inside the hall. Kitchen is currently under construction.

اسمي سامي مقدّم، وانا موسيقي / ملحّن،  طبيب نفسي وناشط من اجل فلسطين.

هذا هو الحدث الثالث الذي أنظمه لفلسطين. الأول كان في ١١ ديسمبر ٢٠٢٣ والثاني في ١١ آذار ٢٠٢٤. منذ ذلك الحين، أصبحت الحالة أكثر سوادًا بكثير. 

كنت أتساءل ما إذا كان مناسبًا تنظيم حدث آخر، حتى ذكرني صديق أن شيئًا واحدًا يتمسك به سكان غزة، وهو أن نواصل التحدث عنهم، وألا ننساهم.
من هنا، يعتبر هذا الحدث، مثل السابق، ليلة موسيقى ونقاش. النقاش موجه للعقل، للاعتراف بإحباطاتنا في عدم قدرتنا على فعل الكثير في هذا الوقت من الظلام المتطرف، وتقديم التكوينات الموسيقية وكيف تتصل بالوضع الراهن.

أسلوبي مزيج من الجدية والفكاهة الخفيفة.

تعود أرباح الحفلة الى المنظمات الفلسطينية المتواجدة على الأرض في غزة.

موسيقتي مزيج من الشرقي، الجاز، الروك، الفانك، الكلاسيك والعالمية.
